The Chairman of the Parliament of Ukraine, Dmytro Razumkov, and a Group of Deputies visited the Sumy Regional Blood Service Center as part of a working trip.

During the official visit to the region, the delegation got acquainted with the unique experience in the development of the donor movement, as well as inspected the work of one of the best laboratories of the blood service of Ukraine. Dmitry Razumkov inspected the rooms for preparing donors for blood donation, the operating room, the laboratory and the premises of the expedition and processing of blood components.

“The issue of blood and plasma donation is one of the key issues for Ukraine, because very often we see a lack of reserves, and this is the resource that, unfortunately, is very much needed by the state today. Sumy is a locomotive in this area, the capital of blood donation in Ukraine, because there are 230 donations per thousand population, while in some other areas this figure is about 14. I hope you will maintain this leadership, “- said the Speaker.

Sumy Biopharma Plasma Center has been working on a system of public-private partnership for over 6 years, which allowed the investor – Biopharma – to invest more than 3.5 million US dollars in the development and re-equipment of the institution.
